ClearID v2.0 Workflow isn't just a suite of more than 20 digital image clarification filters that are powerful, easy to use, and non-destructive to your original evidence, it's a workflow that guides you through the image clarification process. With integrated color preview windows and easy-to-use slider bars, ClearID allows you to quickly discover the optimal settings for clarifying your digital-image evidence from digital and analog video or still images. There is no need to manually record your settings because ClearID automatically does it for you. And when you done processing your evidence, you can run a SHA-1 verification that will produce a text file report of all your settings. Not only is ClearID easy enough for the beginning user but it's flexable and powerful enough for the power user since all the filters can be call from the Function Index tab.

How ClearID Works
ClearID® is a series of forensic image clarification processes and scripts that run from with in Adobe Photoshop®. ClearID works in two ways. You can access each ClearID tool as a plug-in directly from the Photoshop "Filter" menu, or you can access the tools from Photoshop's "Scripts" menu. All of the ClearID tools are available from each location, however applying any of the tools as a script rather than a filter allows the analyst to keep a running record of each change made to the image being worked on.

The ClearID scripting functionality does the following:

Converts the image to a 16-bit workspace if it detects that the image is 8-bit.

Makes sure the image view is set to 100%.

Makes sure that all layers are visible.

If a layer is not visible, ClearID will bring up a dialog asking the user if they would like to Continue, Make all of the Layers Visible, or Cancel.

The script checks to see if there are any non-graphic layers in the Layers Palette, such as a text layer.

If the layer opacity is less than 100% or if there is a non-graphic layer, a warning dialog comes up to notify you.

The script will create a new layer in the Layer Palette then open the user selected plug-in.

You will then be presented with the plug-in's dialog box, which allows you to adjust various settings and see a real-time preview.

Once the user has the desired settings and applies them, ClearID will record the settings used in the Layer Palette for the newly created layer.
